The blade and lock bar of the Assist Salt are both made of H-1 steel, a tough material that is immune to corrosion due to its unique nitrogen composition. This steel holds an impressive edge and is designed for swift one-handed opening, even with heavy gloves on. The blade's blunt tip is safe for use on various materials and features a SpyderEdge for superior cutting performance on tough materials.

The bright yellow handle of the Assist Salt is injection molded from tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a Bi-Directional Texture pattern and finger grooves for a secure grip. The finger grooves also allow for precision cutting tasks like slicing through rope. The knife also features a retractable carbide glass breaker, a survival whistle, and a reversible wire pocket clip for convenient carry.
